Custom Family Fun pool with tanning ledge and PebbleTec finish, paver patio with retaining wall, and fence

Project Details

Function was paired with fashion in this newly transformed space. This family of four already had an outdoor space that included a patio, pavilion, fireplace, dry bar, hot tub and TV. However, they wanted more activity space for the kids and a place to sit and relax, so a Family Fun pool with fire and water features was added and the fireplace was altered to give more flow from the existing space to the new space.

The custom 16’ x 34’ rectangular Family Fun pool is now the centerpiece of family activities. They chose a blue wall color with Shoreline from Pebble Tec, and added accent tile in Moonscape Blue. By adding an automatic autocover, they both increased their kids’ safety and also lessened the need for as many chemicals and maintenance. The designer grab rails in Coppervein nicely compliment the beautiful blue color of the pool. Lounge chairs and table on the tanning ledge built into the shallow end create a great space to relax and cool off.

The main patio is comprised of Travertine in Walnut with a few Noce mixed in with a French pattern. Pool coping is Atlantic Stone – Travertine Leonardo.

The retaining walls, cheek walls, pillars, bond beam wall, and fire feature are from Environmental Stoneworks in Bucks County Ledgestone, with some Aspen Fieldstone mixed in. Steps and coping are made of sandstone.

The final touch to this project was the landscaping. This custom design incorporated great aesthetics and functionality with a low level of maintenance. The items in this landscape design also added an additional level of privacy for the family. This project incorporated a fan favorite, the cone flower. Also included the Black Gum Nyssa and other Pittsburgh-friendly plants.

As you can see from the pictures below, the space is not only enjoyed by this family, but also their lovable (and somewhat mischievous) dog Loki.
